                   STAGE DOOR THEATRE CELEBRATES

THEIR 25TH  SEASON  WITH SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

The Stage Door Theatre is back in business, after Hurricane Irma, with “Saturday Night Fever” which caused a sensation when it debuted in movie theaters in 1977.  It is one of the most beloved dance stories of all time.

It tells the coming -of- age tale of young Tony Manero who learns the value of life in the 1970's in Brooklyn, New York. Based on the 1977 movie starring Barry, Robin, and Maurice, the show includes hit songs, including “Stayin’ Alive,” “Night Fever,” “Jive Talking,” “You Should Be Dancing,”and “How Deep Is Your Love,” in addition to several new songs written especially for this production.

The show focuses on Tony, a Brooklyn youth, whose weekend is spent at the local discotheque. There he receives great satisfaction in admiring the crowd, and nurtures a growing relationship with Stephanie Mangano.  This is where he can temporarily forget the realities of his life, including a dead-end job in a paint store and his gang of dead beat friends.

This musical adaptation celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 70's classic film and a quintessential story of a talented streetwise kid who attempts to escape his dead-end life through dancing. So get on your boogie shoes and hustle on down to the hottest disco in town.

This is a party you won’t want to miss that has now re-opened and will run through October 15, 2017. All tickets are $48 at the box office located at 8036 Sample Road, Margate, evenings at 8 p.m., matinees 2 p.m., Wednesdays to Sundays. Call 954-344-7765 for reservations and more information.

THE ILLUSTRIOUS VOCAL GROUP THE COASTERS

BRING THEIR MUSIC TO THE CASINO AT DANIA BEACH

The long time career of The Coasters, the pre-eminent vocal group of the early rock n’ roll era, was built on a remarkable body of clever, comedic R&B songs for Atco Records fashioned by their producers/ songwriters, Leiber and Stoller.

Under their direction, the Coasters exchanged the crooning of ballads favored by most groups of the era for robust and

full-throated R&B shouting. The group came together in Los Angeles, in October 1955 from remnants of the Robins, who had a dispute with their producers/songwriters, Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller.

The original Coasters comprised two ex-Robins, Carl Gardner and Bobby Nunn. The Coasters have continued as an oldies act ever since. Show business has never seen a group like the Coasters. They occupy a special niche in the music field, because of their style and approach.

Their first hit “Down In Mexico,” was released in 1956 and sold more than 500,000 copies. Their next hit “Young Blood,” and “Searchin'," sold a million copies.

The Coasters are certainly unique. Present members are Carl Gardner, lead singer, Ronald Bright, bass, J. W. Lance, baritone, Alvin Morse, second tenor and Thomas Palmer, musical director and arranger. They are all very talented.

Don’t miss this outstanding group on October 7, 2017 at 8 p.m. at the Casino @ Dania Beach located at 301 E. Dania Beach Blvd., in Dania on stage 954. Tickets are $68 at the Casino Box Office. Call 844-234-SHOW.
