THOMSON PLAZA FOR THE ARTS

THE ARSCHT CENTER SERIES

Established in Miami in 2006, Elastic Bond creates an uplifting sound described as “psychedelic tropical soul.” The band started out as a studio collaboration between Venezuelan producer-musician Andrés Ponce and Honduran singer-songwriter Sofy Encanto, and soon developed into a five-piece band that blends funk, hip-hop, soul and Latin music performed in Spanish and English.

In 2013, Elastic Bond signed with Nacional Records, and released the album Real in the United States and Japan. The album debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Latin Alternative charts and made a few top lists of 2013. In 2017, the band released the album Honey Bun, featuring an organic soul sound with a glaze of hip-hop. Some highlights of their 2017-2018 live shows were in New York for the Latin Alternative Music Conference, Chicago’s Pilsen Fest and in Mexico City at Festival Vive Latino as special guests of Los Amigos Invisibles, who also featured Elastic Bond on the single “Espérame,” from their Grammy-nominated album El Paradise.

Doors open at 6 p.m., along with food and beverage service. Check-in is located at the Ziff Ballet Opera House doors on NE 13th Street.
